Okay, sell me some ideas on heroes for HoS:

Strider (High Elf) - lone wanderer and nature-lover, armed with a staff. Has a number of druidic abilities, one of his spells should be connected with turning into a tiger. Melee.

Waywatcher (High Elf) - ranger commander, armed with a longbow. Should have some boosts for nearby ranged units. Ranged.

Nightwalker (Shadow Elf) - male drider (elf/spider hybrid mutant), specialized on anthrax/chemical/plague attacks. Ranged.

Butcheress (Shadow Elf) - SE commander riding a giant beetle. Plain meat shield. Melee.

Daughter of Shial (Shadow Elf) - female drider with a longbow, sort of 'evil counterpart' of Waywatcher. Ranged. 

Archpriestess (Shadow Elf) - High priestess/mage of Shial, very powerful spellcaster. Ranged.

Autumn Burden - Using the decaying power of Autumn, the Strider curses his foes with ill health and stamina.

           Attack Rate Reduction: 15% X Spell Level (use a negative
           value in the editor)
Mana Cost: 65
Cooldown: 5 seconds.
Duration: 60 (10) seconds.

Mark of the Fang - Showing his affinity for the wid tigers that roam Quel'thalas, the Strider joins them in form and spirit, learning to slash his foes with unmatched ferocity and speed. 

Base Spell: Chemical Rage
Effects: Morph into a Tiger with 15% X Spell Level attack rate increase and Scar Strike, a passive ability based off Critical Strike/Bash etc that deals 10 X Spell Level bonus damage 20% of the time.
Duration: 40 seconds.
Mana Cost: 100
Note: All of the Strider's hero abilities will still be enabled in Tiger Form. I'll try and solve this without triggers as soon as possible if you need.

Mage's Twilight (Ultimate) - Heeding the call of nature to stop all the heathen magics of his foes from harming the land, the Strider unleashes a bolt of natural power that wipes out the magic reserves of a lone foe in a single stroke, crippling their body and mind.

Base Spell: Mana Burn
Effects: Burns 9999999 mana (in other words, all of the targets mana) and deals the amount lost back. Useful for heroes. 
Mana Cost: 150
Casting Time: 1 second.
Cooldown: 45 seconds.

NOTE: Sorry Rommel, I couldn't think of any Ranged boosts that would work without triggering. The only spell/ability that distinguishes between ranged and melee units is Trueshot Aura and other damage boosting auras, and since you no doubt want originally, I had to leave that bit out. However, I've still added some ranged unit affecting spells.

Dumbfound - Using her mind altering talents, the Waywatcher can completely wipe the skill and prowess needed for a soldier to wield ranged weaponry, from guns to longbows.

Base Spell: Silence
Effects: Stops all affected units from using ranged attacks.
Mana Cost: 95
Duration: 8 (2) X Spell Level seconds.

Tri Arrow - Notching her bow with multiple magical arrows, the Waywatcher hits multiple enemies with each attack.

Base Spell: Barrage
Effects: Hits two targets (three including her actual attack) with an arrow that deals 12 X Spell Level damage.
Cast Range: Equal to her attack range.

Archer's Valour (Passive) - Inspiring her allies to fight with all the valour and force of their ancestors, the Waywatcher causes her ranged allies to strike with great accuracy.

Base Spell: Trueshot Aura
Effects: 7 X Spell Level bonus damage (turn off Precentage Bonus)
AoE: 900

Impaler (Ultimate) - Firing a massive, sturdy bolt at her victim, the Waywatcher causes her foe to bleed rapidly for several seconds. 

Base Spell: Shadow Strike
Effects: Deals 50 instant damage and causes 15 damage per second. Reduces attack rate by 40%
Duration: 20 seconds.
Cast Time: 1 second (this sets the damage interval of Shadow Strike spells)
Cooldown: 45 seconds.
Mana Cost: 125

Necronia - Twisting the souls of the recently slain, the Nightwalker causes their corpses to warp and explode in a rain of flesh and necromantic power.

Base Spell: Raise Dead
Cast Range: 300
Mana Cost: 50
Cooldown: 3 seconds.
Effect: Summons a dummy unit for 1 second that has an AoE on Death Ability. This ability deals 75 X Spell Level damage (you'll need 3 seperate ones, and three seperate dummy units). Give the unit a 0.01 selection scale so it can't be selected.

Hivebeing - Mutating himself into a living home for his prodigies, the Nightwalker births a new Spiderson to serve him every 8 seconds. 

Base Spell: Factory. (found in Neutral Hostile - Units)
Effects: Summons a Spiderson (similar, but slightly weaker, to Carrion Beetles of equivalent level) every 8 seconds. Spidersons last 35 seconds.
Leash Range: 800

Umbre Blight - Bathes the target area in a black plague of terrible disease and decay. This plague wastes both body and mind of all those affected by it.

Base Spell: Drunken Haze
Effects: Reduces affected units movement speed by 25% X Spell level and stops melee units from attacking. 
Duration: 7 (2) X Spell Level seconds.
Cast Range: 600
AoE: 300
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 45 seconds.

Darkness Falls - Breathing a jet of pure malovent blackness at his foes, the Nightwalker washes away all life in front of him. If any of his foes should be struck with the Umbre Blight, they will waste away in his wrath.

Base Spell: Breath of Fire
Effects: Deals 300 damage to enemy units in a cone, and 60 additional damage per second if the unit is affected by Umbre Blight.
Cast Range: 600
Mana Cost: 175
Cooldown: 45 seconds.

Frenzied Slash - Inciting her beetle mount, the Butcheress causes it to go into a bloody frenzy where it slashes and cleaves apart the unfortunate victim.

Obsidian Carapace (Passive) - Molding her beetle with plates of pure obsidian, the Butcheress becomes more immune to attacks from foes.

Base Spell: Hardened Skin
Effects: Blocks 9 X Spell Level damage from foes, from ranged and melee.

Witchcraft - Weaving her mystical power, the Butcheress forces her foes to attack her beetle mount, drawing their attacks and actions away from her allies.

Base Spell: Taunt
Effects: Taunts 10 X Spell Level enemies in a 300 X Spell Level area.
Mana Cost: 80
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Targets: Units and Buildings

Bloody Rage (Ultimate) - In the ultimate show of raging fury, the Butcheress and her beetle take on the power of pure vampiric malice for a short time.

Base Spell: Vampiric Potion (change to hero spell)
Effects: Steals 75% of attack damage inflicted from organic units, also adds a 40 bonus to damage. 
Duration: 30 seconds.
Cooldown: 60 seconds.
Mana Cost: 150

Void Leap - Creating a portal through the aether, the Daughter displaces herself from her current location and appears in another.

Base Spell: Blink
Effects: Leaps 2000 X Spell Level distance. 
Cast Time: 3 / Spell Level seconds. 
Mana Cost: 25
Cooldown: 1 seconds.

Chameleonis - Pulling the shadows around her, the Daughter becomes invisible to the naked eye, and gains a deadly surprise attack, but also is forced to move slower. 

Base Spell: Wind Walk (Storm version)
Effects: -25% move rate.
            75 X Spell Level bonus damage.
Mana Cost: 75
Duration: 15 seconds.
Cooldown: 5 seconds.

Widow's Poison (Passive) - Coating her arrows with her tainted blood, the Daughter is able to poison foes, weakening them with every arrow that hits them.

Base Spell: Poison Arrows or something, I forget the name
Effects: 5% X Spell Level reduction in attack rate and move speed.
Damage Type: Stacking
Duration: 3 seconds.

Wretched Existence (Ultimate) - Calling the wrath of her prodigal mother, Shial, the Daughter curses her victim, torturing them with a crippled mind and body.

Base Spell: Soul Burn
Effects: Reduces movement rate by 75% and attack speed by 50%. No damage. Silences as well (hardcoded effect of soulburn)
Duration: 0 (makes it infinite, can be dispelled)
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 15 seconds.

Aether Shield - Drawing from Shial's power, the Archpriestess shields one of her minions in a forcefield that blocks a limited amount of magical energy from harming them.

Base Spell: Anti Magic Shell
Effect: 150 X Spell Level magic damage resistance.
Mana Cost: 75
Cooldown: 15 seconds.
Cast Range: 500
Duration: 30 seconds.

Summon Shadow - Warping the very darkness around her, the Archpriestess summons a Shadow, a spectre of blackness that is almost impossible to damage. 

Base Spell: Summon Water Elemental
Effect: Summons a Lesser/Normal/Greater Shadow. Shadows have 100% evasion, but a negative hp regen (like Phoenixes), and only 50 X Level hit points. They deal 7 X Spell Level minimum - 12 X Spell level maximum damage (Normal type)
Mana Cost: 75
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Duration: 60 seconds. 

Shial's Grasp (Ultimate) - Calls up the hand of Shial from the earth to ensnare a foe, ripping the life out of them.

Base Spell: Entangling Roots
Effect: 75 damage every second
Duration: 10 seconds.
Cooldown: 45 seconds.
Cast Range: 1000
Mana Cost: 175
Targets: Units and Buildings.
Dispellable?: Oh aye
